Sleeping Beauty

Lydia slept from 3 pm yesterday until 8 am this morning with only waking up occasionally for a few minutes at a time when getting her vitals taken.  She has also taken two good naps today.  She must be getting her beauty rest from her rough day yesterday.  The nurse and tech today gave her a really good sponge bath which her sweaty body really needed.  Although she wasn't happy while it was happening, I'll bet she feels better.  She has learned a defense mechanism against her anxiety with people she doesn't know coming in the room.  She has started to pull a pillow or blanket over her face so she can't see them.   One time when she was hiding, the nurse or I would pull the blanket off her face and say "peek-a-boo", then she would cry or moan but after she pulled it back up she would immediately be quiet.  It was so funny, but I guess it gives us an idea of how much she doesn't like what's happening to her.
Her spinal-tap results showed that the bacteria had not reached her brain, yeah!!  Her perintonesis showed that she does have infection in her stomach.  The antibiotics should clear this up soon too.
Spencer, Alyssa and Dallin are here to see Lydia for a few minutes.  She was excited to see them.  Brian is going to stay here for the evening and I get to go home with them for a little while. Yeah!! I'm so excited!!

  1. Janene, it is your slacker brother Adam looking at your blog and thinking to himself wow my sister is strong. reading over some of the past post's i'm glad that you and the family are filling better. I fill so bad for Lydia she is so small some times I forget how smart she is and that she is still growing mentally she must be some spirit to be able to take this. Her coping method of pulling the blanket over her head is cute and sad at the same time it reminds me of a turtle or and Ostridge haha pore thing. I do love you and pray for you. and you know that if you need any thing at all, all you have to do is call. Love Adam

  2. Janene, my heart is breaking for what your whole family is going through. I am so thankful for you and your precious example of what a daughter of God is meant to be. I know that Heavenly Father is watching over you in every minute detail that you are all experiencing and is mindful of the heavy burden that is your life right now. Our family is praying for your family all the time. Thank you for sharing all this hard stuff. I've often thought that you are such a special mother, and that is why Lydia was sent to you. She needs someone special watching over her and helping her. You can do it better than anyone else. Stay strong. We will pray for all of you to be strong.I love you to bits!
